The Relaunch of the ALMA DOEPEL

Last Saturday the 118 year old ALMA DOEPEL was lifted back into the murky waters of the River Yarra after a 10 year restoration. In the first of two Interviews we have made on the subject, we speak with Ferdi Darley the amazing and articulate head shipwright on the project just four days before the launch. He explains much of the thinking and the techniques around the restoration. Then we end his account, with a time lapse of the relaunch, in which you can see for yourself, the results of his work.
